My favorite works of art are the ones where I have to stop and come up with my own story, where the meaning behind the art isn’t right in front of my face, but challenges me. This series as a whole is open to interpretation. I want to know what the viewer sees in the images, what emotions or thoughts come to mind. I chose to do this series in black and white because of how “raw” an image can look without any color being added to it. A colored photograph can make the image seem warm and inviting, those were not my intentions in this series. I decided to print on Arches Aquarelle Rag because of the added texture it gave my photographs, with it being clearly visible but not at all overpowering.
